Perhaps the sweetest thing about this time of year is not delicious Thanksgiving food and desserts, but the thankfulness we feel for our staff,  customers, and consignors. We honestly wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for you. You can bet when we reflect this season on what we are grateful for, you’ll be at the top of our list. November The Loft Calendar

Art Festival Octogon Festival of trees

Octagon Festival of Trees Kick Off 

When: Friday, November 15th 5-8pm

Where: Octagon Arts Building 427 Douglas Ave, Ames IA 50010

What:  Join us to celebrate the opening of the Festival with refreshments, holiday music and holiday craft activities for the kids! The trees will remain on display from November 15th though December 1st. You can find more information about viewing hours and how to get involved here.

Main Street Cultural District’s Holiday Kick Off with Snow Magic!

When: Friday, November 22nd 5-8pm

Where: The Loft

What:  Snow Magic is the official start of the Holiday season for the Ames Main Street Cultural District.  We will be open until 8pm that night for great shopping deals. 

Thanksgiving – The Loft Closed

When: Thursday November 28th

Where: The Loft

What:  We will be closed for our staff and consigners to spend time with family and friends.

What:  There will be tons of great deals available at The Loft this up coming Black Friday. You will not want to miss out on our crazy good super secret black Friday deals. They are so good we don’t want to spoil the surprise, but we do ensure you won’t be disappointed!

Later this month we will be releasing a 2013 Holiday Gift guide that will help you shop smart this year and please everyone on your list! Until then come in to check out our new line of great gifts for Christmas including new scarves, jewelry and accessories.

Don’t forget to stop in November 29th for incredible Black Friday one day deals! These deals are so good we can’t even reveal them until the day of. You will not be disappointed!

When the dress is bold and highly ornamented, go simple with form and color when adding accessories. 

We are starting to take formal dresses. Please remember they must be dry cleaned before bringing them in.

We would also like to mention that we have several boards on Pinterest for The Loft! You will want to follow our Fall Fashions board. This board highlights different outfits and styles that are trending this fall, along with some Fall item must haves.

You Should Get to Know.

IMG_0150Each month we will be featuring a staff member for you to get to know! Our staff thinks of our consigners and shoppers as an extension of the Duck Worth Wearing family and we want to connect! This month you should get to know our very own Morgan Eggink.

Who: Morgan Eggink

Position:  Sales Associate at Duck Worth Wearing

Past: Morgan grew up in Fertile, which is located in northern Iowa.  She attend the University of Northern Iowa; graduating in 2010 with a degree in English Education.

Present: Morgan currently resides in Ames with her husband Quinn, their cat Martin Van Buren, and their dog Theodore Roosevelt.  Morgan also works as an Educational Assistant at Meeker Elementary.  Morgan loves to spend time with family and friends, read, craft, cross-country ski, fish, and sing (often to the dismay of her co-workers).

Future: Morgan hopes to be an English teacher and looks forward to whatever the future may hold.
