As the flowers burst forward from the ground and we excitedly say our good byes to winter weather, The Loft and Main Street are as lively and busy as ever! With May comes graduations, weddings, and opportunities to introduce color to your wardrobe! We have a ton of new clothes to get you to all your events dressed in affordable styles. Read on this month for updates on the latest summer products, graduation gift ideas, and activities on Main Street in Ames!

Main Street Farmers Market

When: Starting Saturday May 3rd through October. 8am-12:30pm

Where: 300 & 400 Block of Main Street and the Tom Evans Park

What: The Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market is a community event with local vendors and producers bringing their best to sell and share! It’s a great time to start the weekend with family and friends as you stroll in the sunshine down Main Street. It will bring you conveniently closer to our front door which is only a few steps away from great deals on all things your family needs to save time and money!

With all of the fabulous spring events like graduations and weddings, it can be overwhelming deciding what to wear, as well as figuring out how to pay for it all! Not only can we get you dressed to impress at the Loft, but we can help you find the perfect gift for your event as well. Check back later this month on our blog to decipher which colors, cuts, and styles are appropriate and flattering for your upcoming event!

You Should get to Know.

Each month we will be featuring a staff member for you to get to know! Our staff thinks of our consigners and shoppers as an extension of the The Loft family and we want to connect! This month you should get to know our very own Rachel DeCraene.

rachelWho: Rachel DeCraene

Position:  Sales Associate at The Loft & Duck Worth Wearing.

Past: Rachel started with her roots in Naperville, IL. There she grew up as leader of the pack with her two siblings tagging along close behind. While in high school she developed her love for dance and music by participating in the color guard.

Present: Rachel has since moved to Ames, IA to attend Iowa State University for Pre-business. She plays the viola and has been doing so since 2005. She has also continued working with her dance background by being involved with Dub H hip hop classes at ISU.

Future: Rachel has a passion for travel and when she completes her degree, she hopes to have this as a regular part of her life!

In Closing.

Congrats again to our graduating seniors! Be sure to stop in during the week, and especially on Saturdays when enjoying the Main Street farmers markets! We look forward to seeing you this month shopping and consigning in the store.
