We are hardly into October and already they have predicted flurries in our future.  That beings said we are stocked and ready with stylish winter coats, hats, lined leggings, and all things cozy for these upcoming chilly temperatures. We can also help give you warm fuzzies when you read this month’s newsletter which includes all the information on our rewards program, special sales, and new fall gear!

Main Street Farmers Market

When: Saturdays now through October. 8am-12:30pm

Where: 300 & 400 Block of Main Street and the Tom Evans Park

What: Catch the last couple of Ames Main Street Farmers’ Market this month! It’s a community event with local vendors and producers bringing their best to sell and share! It’s a great time to start the weekend with family and friends as you stroll in the sunshine down Main Street. It will bring you conveniently closer to our front door which is only a few steps away from great deals on all things your family needs to save time and money! The Loft opens at 9am on Farmers’ Market Saturdays and will return to regular business hours later this month.

Main Street Trick or Treat

When: Thursday October 30th 10am-2pm

Where: Main Street, Downtown Ames, Iowa

What:  Visit Downtown Ames Main Street at participating stores including Duck Worth Wearing & The Loft for a day of Trick or Treating!

Consignment.

We are accepting items of all sizes and for all ages now at The Loft. There is something for everyone, including men! We have a great selection of name brand jeans and a special guide for finding your best fit in this month’s blog. 

Please note the following dates for consignment acceptance of seasonal items.

  • We are currently taking jeans.
  • December – We will begin accepting long prom dresses. Remember to check dresses for stains on the inside and out.

Friendly Consignment Reminders

  •  When bringing in consignment please have your items neatly folded in a box or bag. Condition should be ready to wear and wrinkle free.
  • We accept 25 items or less everyday except Sunday.

Winter is on the way and it’s time to bundle up! We have a ton of winter coats to choose from. Stop in now to get your first pick.

We have some super cool fall scarves that have just arrived!

Rewards are Back!

Rewards are finally back at Duck Worth Wearing. Once you spend $150 at The Loft, you will receive a $5 credit.  It is that easy! You simply shop and gain rewards.  Be sure when checking out we have your name, address and current email.

Rewards never expire, and can be combined at checkout.

For those that have shopped over the last 10 months with us, we have not forgotten you.  If you spent enough to get a reward we will put the credit on your account.  Stop in to check and there may be a surprise waiting for you!

You Should get to Know.

Each month we will be featuring a staff member for you to get to know! Our staff thinks of our consigners and shoppers as an extension of the The Loft family and we want to connect! This month you should get to know our very own Kaity Degen.

Who: Kaity Degen senior

Position:  Sales Associate at Duck Worth Wearing.

Past: Kaity had her beginnings in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She grew up with two sisters and one brother. Before attending Iowa State University she received her AA at Iowa Lakes Community College in Esterville, Iowa.

Present: Kaity is currently an Iowa State University student in Elementary Eduction. As a Junior she is in her third year of enjoying athletics, and spending her free time with family and friends which includes one niece and another on the way!

Future:  With one and half years a head of her at ISU, Kaity looks forward to her time at The Loft and serving her customers with her happy demeanor and desire to help.

In Closing.

As the summer is now a distant memory and you prepare for the upcoming fall and winter seasons keep us in mind for all of your wardrobe needs. We are excited about the rewards program being back in full swing and can’t wait to shower you with rewards!
