FOODIES & BREW 8/19/16

Foodies and Brew

What?

Local Main Street restaurateurs and chefs will showcase their talents by providing samples of unique food creations. Event attendees will be encouraged to visit each station and vote for the People’s Choice Award. A selection of craft beers will also be available for sampling, and each attendee will receive a souvenir glass. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 day of the event.  Tickets sold after August 12 will be held at the will call table at the event.

Foodies & Brew is a fundraiser for the Main Street Cultural District to support beautification and growth of the downtown business district.

WORLDLY GOODS REUSE, REPURPOSE, RECYCLE EVENT 8/28/16

What?

Worldly Goods Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle Market is a chance to focus on environmental resiliency by making what is old new again. The purpose will be to bring attention to reusing and repurposing items to give them a new life. It will be a street market like atmosphere. We encourage antique, vintage, handcrafted, and upcycled vendors to come sell their wares. Please contact Andrea at Worldly Goods, 515-233-4568 or worldlygoods@isunet.net with any questions.

MUSIC WALK 9/29/16

MUSIC WALK

What?

The MusicWalk, presented by Stoltze and Stoltze Family Dentistry, showcases downtown businesses on Main Street as well as local musicians. With downtown businesses featuring musicians as well as artists performing on the sidewalks of Main Street, this event will allow you to experience the many things Main Street has to offer as the district comes to life with music, vendors and more!

MusicWalk also features sidewalk cafés, specifically set up for the event. Bring your family and friends to the MusicWalk and enjoy outdoor dining while listening to beautiful music!

MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET

Farmers Market

What?

The Ames Main Street Farmers Market is truly a community event. They are excited to bring people together from the surrounding area to enjoy the bounty of the locally grown produce, delicious baked goods and beautifully hand crafted items.

When?

Now through October 29th Saturdays 9am-12:30pm

**The Loft will Open at 9am on these select Saturdays – Note this is a change from our normal business hours!

Where?

300 & 400 blocks of Main Street Ames, Iowa

MAIN STREET OKTOBERFEST 10/22/16

Oktoberfest

What?

Sample 20 different beers from commemorative tasting cups, enjoy polka music, dancing, great German Food, “Guten Tag” games, and much more!  This event is for those who are at least 21 years old.

When?

Saturday October 22nd

The fun gets underway at 9 a.m with a Harvest Market Live Music Starts at 1pm and continues through 10 pm.  Oktoberfest beer tasting starts at 4pm. Enjoy authentic German food from 1pm through 8pm.

TRICK-OR-TREATING MAIN STREET 10/28/16

Trick or treat

 

What?

Are you are fan of trick-or-treating? Or maybe your kids are! Trick-or-Treating in Downtown Ames is always a fun, family-friendly event. Babies, toddlers, kids and parents… everyone is encouraged to dress up!

Our friendly businesses in Downtown Ames enjoy a little fun and getting to know our community. We’re excited to see your funny and creative Halloween costumes!

Have you seen our make over? If not come check it out!!!

Please Note…

  • We will start taking Home coming dresses now!
  • Fall items are being accepted now including: Jeans, Pants, Long sleeve shirts, light weight jackets, & tall boots.
  • Fall & Winter items will be accepted September 15th – December 31st:  Sweaters and Winter coats.
  • We will no longer be accepting clothing in any type of trash bag.  This wrinkles the clothes and makes them unsellable.
  • We will be standing pretty firm on 25 items of clothing a day to make it fair so that all consignor’s items make it to the sale’s floor.  If you have any questions or are coming from a long way away, just give us a call and we will get it worked out!
  • We will be closed Labor day Monday September 5th

What you need to know about homecoming….

  • Home coming dresses are being accepted through Now and are ready for purchase! This is a great place to find a unique and affordable dress!
  • Formal wear need to be dry cleaned.
  • Dresses should be no older than 3 years.
